Is your tattoo studio website bringing traffic to your shop?

We've put together a list of 5 essential tools to help your website win you more clients.

1. SEO

SEO (or Search Engine Optimisation) helps people find you on Google and is the most important tool on your website. Without SEO, your website won’t rank and potential customers won’t see your site. In order to give your studio site the best chance against your competitors, staying on top of SEO is key. On-page SEO is important, but changing your website monthly to match the current ranking keywords is tough - instead, adding a weekly or even monthly blog can help you stay on top of ranking keywords as and when you need to.

2. Call to Action

Sometimes your customer needs a little push in the right direction - “Click here!”, “book now!”, “find out more!”. A Call to Action (or CTA) is used to encourage your customer to take the next step. They act as directions or instructions for customers, creating a clear and easy route to your product or service.

3. Contact Forms

One of the best marketing tools is direct email and SMS marketing. Having a database of potential customers and people who have visited your site gives you direct contact with them. Contact forms are short and simple for your customer - with most browsers auto-filling the information - providing you with an email and telephone number to directly market your art, services, and offers long after their initial visit to your site.

4. Social Media Links

Social media is a great way for tattoo artists to show their work and social media is often the best place to do so. Those visitors on your site who aren’t ready to book an appointment or fill out a contact form, might click your social media links and begin following you there. The more a potential customer sees artwork they like, the more likely they will be to book with you when the time is right.

5. Show Off Your Work!

Make sure you include a gallery on your site! Potential customers want to see your work before they decide which artist they want to tattoo them for life. Keep your gallery updated as often as possible and display separate galleries for each artist in order to make it easier for your customers to decide who to choose.

We recently had the chance to visit the Hucknall studio of @ma9pie , a tattoo artist whose work has been captivating us for a lot of years. Ma9pie is a true artist by every definition of the word with an amazing back story. He doesn't just do amazing, large scale tattoos in record time, he's also a musician, creating his own music alongside these stunning pieces of art. But what grabbed our attention was his reputation for completing full back pieces and sleeves in just one day. That level of focus, artistic vision, and sheer physical stamina was something we wanted to experience in person. So, we dived on a train and spent a day with him at his studio and got to know the man behind the art. Check out the full interview below.

As a tattoo artist or studio owner, you know the importance of a strong online presence. Despite a clear recent decline in overall performance for most artists/owners, instagram still provides a fantastic platform to showcase your work, connect with potential clients and generate bookings. But while the "Boost Post" button might seem like a quick solution, it's often not the most effective strategy. Here's why:
